Throttle Problem on a 2004 Dakota SXT 2 wheel drive w/ 3.7ltr. V6 Auto?

It's a 3.9L isn't it? Anyway there is no fix for this problem. My dad bought a 01 dakota that would shift like crap continually. It would shift to a higher gear on the highway way before it should making for a very weak powered truck. The shift patterns on these "dogs" are just weak. Do yourself a favour and trade it for an import ,Nissan , Izuzu, toyota, way better mileage and if it's an auto it will shift when it's supposed to.
