How do I beat the T-Rex that is attacking me on Lara Croft Tomb Raider ANniversary?

This game is so hard. I shoot at the animals and they don't die. I have to shoot like 30 bullets. Also what am I looking for I am still in Peru. I don't even know what I am looking for. I can't find any relics or artifacts. Please help me if you can...
