Surfing Short Boards?

Okay so i just really learned how to surf the beginning of this summer, i use a bic 7'3 and its really good, i also have like a 6'0 action but its banged up and i have the hardest tine riding it, i would rather like to use a short board but what kind and what size do i need to get
