Who here has survived a cult?

I was in a political group that functioned very much like a cult. Of course there are differences and different levels of intensity. This group never kept me from talking to my family, for example. But they pressured me for more and more money, for giving them more and more of my time. Made me feel guilty if I didn't, that it meant I wasn't committed to the cause, etc.
