Need suggestions on how to leave chiropractor!?

I've been seeing a chiropractor for a few months, and have had good results. They've specifically worked on my neck. My co-worker has gone to a different chiropractor. She's recently suffered a vertebral artery dissection - leading to a week long hospital stay (no stroke, thank God!), and will be on blood thinners for the next six months to one year. I'm taking this as a sign and am thinking about discontinuing my visits. Should I just stop going, or do I owe them more of an explanation?
